Canada

     On september 10, 1939 canada became an allie. They declared war on germany, canada also declared war on japan, on december 8, 1941. The canadian army first saw action in a fight near hong kong against japan, canada lost many men in the battle on the french port dieppe. Troops fought in italy and in the allied landing at normandy in june 1994. The candian general H D G crerar, moved into northern germany to accept the surrender of germany on the northern front. This event happened on may 7, 1945. The army helped protect warships in the atlantic, but not without loss, over 90,000 soliders were killed. Not only did the canadians fight in the war, but the canadian goverment helped with food and money, The king of canada pledged men and help for the allies.
